Overview
Overview
Axometrics specializes in measuring the physical properties (cell gap, alignment/rubbing direction, twist, pre-tilt angles) of LCD panels. Systems can be customized for laboratory use (typically for measuring individual LCD panels) and for production systems (typically for measuring LCD motherglass).
All Axometrics production systems are built to comply with each individual customer’s factory common spec, and typically include additional subsystems such as pin-lifters, ionization bars, mechanical and optical gauging, safety interlocks, seismic analysis and restraints, and full CIM software control for automated production measurement and robot sample loading.
Standard system sizes include:
- 20" diagonal
- 42" diagonal
- 65" diagonal
- 85" diagonal
- Gen 3 / 3.5 motherglass
- Gen 4 / 4.5 motherglass
- Gen 5 / 5.5 motherglass
- Gen 6 motherglass
- Gen 8 / 8.5 motherglass
- Gen 10.5 / 11 motherglass
Every system is customized to meet your space requirement
APM Systems
APM Systems
The Axometrics Panel Mapper (APM) measurement system consists of a pair of polarimeter heads (either AxoScan or AxoStep) mounted on a single combination tilt/rotation turret. The standard configuration consists of customizable XY stage with integrate calibration samples, a tunable light source and a protective enclosure. Additional options, such as optical gauging and panel voltage sources can also be included. AMP systems are typically built for measuring individual LCD panels in a laboratory setting, they can be built for any size sample from an individual 20 inch LCD panel up to a Generation 11 motherglass.
FAA-3 Systems
FAA-3 Systems
The FAA systems consist of 3 AxoScan (or AxoStep) Heads mounted at fixed tilt angles, attached to a rotation turret. These measurement systems are the fastest LCD measurement system on the market today. An FAA-3 AxoScan system can measure multiple locations on a sample in under a second, and is typically used in LCD fabrication facilities for measuring motherglass samples, but can be built for any size sample from an individual 20 inch LCD panel up to a Generation 11 motherglass. The standard configuration consists of customizable XY stage with integrate calibration samples, a tunable light source and a protective enclosure. When used in a production environment, additional features are included that allow automated robot loading and mechanical and optical gauging systems.
FAF-5 Systems
FAF-5 (HYDRA) Systems
The Axometrics HYDRA measurement system (FAF-5) is the most advanced polarization measurement system for LCD panels in the world. It consists of 5 sets of AxoStep heads mounted to view a single LCD pixel from 5 different directions. The system measures cell gap and pretilt angle within individual subdomains of PSVA, PSA and UV2A LCD panels at speeds suitable for use on production lines. The five AxoStep systems measure at the same time allowing a complete measurement in under 20 seconds. Features include:
- Automatic autofocus
- Automatic feature location and image centering
- Automatic image registration
- Sample tilt and alignment compensation
- Multidomain analysis in a single measurement
Systems as large as Gen 11 are currently in use by several of the world's leading manufacturers of LCD panels.
