Systems are available for cut films ranging from 20” to 75” diagonal and for inline (cross-web) measurements for web widths up to 3,000 mm are larger. Systems incorporating either AxoScan (single-point) or AxoStep (imaging) Mueller matrix polarimeters are available.

The AxoScan system was designed to be used in any environment, ranging from laboratory desktops to the output of a tenter machine on a stretched-retarder-film production line.

Models

FAA-3-xxx-IL

The FAA-3 in-line film system uses a rotating stage with 3 AxoScan Heads mounted at 50,0 and -50 degrees. It is the only film system on the market that is capable of measuring the optical properties of biaxial compensation films (R0, Rth and beta) after they are laminated to polarizer films. The measurement turrets can be either fixed (generally in the center of the film) or mounted on linear motors for scanning along the traverse direction. The Traverse width of the film measurement is customizable depending of the film web to be measured, with distances from under one meter to over 3 meters.

AFM-xxx-H

The AxoScan Film Mapper incorporates tilt / rotation turret that allows testing at multiple polar and azimuth angles. This functionality is needed for measuring the out-of-plane retardnace (Rth) of retarder films, and for determining the retardance properties of field-of-view compensation films after they have been laminated to polarizer films.

Systems include a motorized XY stage for testing any different locations on the sample. Standard sizes include:

FAF-1-xxx

The FAF-1 systems incorporation a single AxoScan heads at a fixed tilt angle. These systems can be configured as XY tables, cross-web scanning systems, or continuous-monitoring inline systesm.
